Scenic view of the Indian River with tree-lined shores and calm water

Indian River, Michigan

Sleep to the sound
of water you can
actually hear.

Quiet rooms on the riverbank — no crowds, no noise, just the kind of stillness that makes a weekend feel like a reset.

A place to
unplug, properly.

Riverside Cottages is a small lodging along Prospect Street in Indian River, Michigan — the kind of place where the Wi‑Fi is optional and the river does most of the talking. We opened our doors for travelers who'd rather sleep to lapping water than traffic, and who measure a good stay by how quietly the morning arrives.

There are no resort amenities here. What we offer instead is honest comfort, rooms that face the water, and the kind of silence you won't find anywhere else in the area.

Things to do
when you slow down.

Boating & Kayaking

The Indian River is one of the region's best-kept secrets for paddling. Launch your own kayak or rent locally and spend the afternoon drifting through cypress and oak.

Hiking & Trails

Mackinaw State Forest is nearby, with miles of trails through northern hardwoods. In fall, the colors are something people drive hours to see.

Local Towns

Traverse City is about 45 minutes south — wineries, restaurants, and a real downtown. Mackinaw City and the Bridge are an hour north if you want to keep moving.

Fishing

Walleye, smallmouth bass, and trout — the river and nearby lakes hold plenty. Rent a boat locally or cast from the bank at dawn.

We don't pretend to be a resort. We're just a small place on the river that does a few things well — a quiet room, a good night's sleep, and a morning that starts the way it should: slowly.

Right on the
river, easy to find.
